Rainy Days & Magazine addictions

Woke up to a rainy day and put off the beach trip to indulge in my serious problem. Yes girls I have a serious magazine addiction. Check out the latest Country Style Mag. Has great pictures and stories as usual. So I settled down for some relaxation in the Studio with a Latte and mags.

Thrift Find

I found this rather ugly looking picture (well it did have a picture attached to it) with an unbelievable $20 price tag attached. On closer inspection the frame was falling to pieces. I offered them $5 pointing out that the frame was falling apart. They accepted my offer and off I went with a smile on my face and the mind buzzing. My intentions were to turn this falling apart really only good for the scrap heap into a lovely blackboard. I fixed up the frame, gave it a coat of paint and then sanded the insert and applied blackboard paint. Just love it.

Cottage Studio floor

On a previous posting I had decided to paint my studio floor white, this did look fantastic, however it was very difficult to keep looking nice. My little cottage studio used to be a work shed and therefore the concrete was not in the most fantastic condition. So I had decided to put down vinyl tiles. I embarked on this endeavour on my own. It took me 3 days to complete and by the end of it I could hardly walk. My knees were killing me. I had used industrial knee pads, but these did not help much. However the end result was definately worth it.

Love my cushions

I had the urge to do some sewning today. It was time to immerse myself in my wonderful fabric stash and to my delight I came across two lovely pieces of fabric and trim. What shaped cushion was the next decision and this is what eventuated. I am quite pleased with the end result.

Before @ After

I have had this delightful little desk for some time and decided it was time for it to make an appearance in my cottage studio. Of course the timber look just didn't do it for me, so the shabby makeover had to happen. What do you think ?
